The sweet scent of strawberries and other locally grown produce attracted students, faculty and passersby to the last Farmers' Market of the academic year in Bruin Plaza Thursday. "I’ve been here twice today,” said first-year psychobiology major Annika Belzer (far right), arms brimming with bags of fresh cherries and nectarines. The biquarterly event was organized by E3: Ecology, Economy, Equity, the largest environmental student organization at UCLA. Having the market right on campus “improves access to fresh, unprocessed produce, and engages a wider range of the UCLA community in sustainable agriculture and healthy eating,” explained Joanna Wheaton, fourth-year political science major and co-chair of E3. If you missed out on all the healthy treats, have no fear because the market will be returning in the fall, added Wheaton.
