In memoriam: Political scientist Barbara Sinclair, expert on the workings of Congress

Barbara Sinclair, a professor of political science and renowned expert on the workings of the U.S. Congress, died on March 12.

Sinclair joined the UCLA faculty in 1996, after having served at UC Riverside for 25 years. Over the course of her career, Sinclair explored and explained the inner workings of congressional party leaders, the evolution of the Senate and the ability of Congress to enact major legislation.

A memorial will be hosted by the UCLA Department of Political Science on Wednesday, June 8, 4-7 p.m. at the UCLA California NanoSystems Institute. A reception will follow the service. Please RSVP to bsunnu@polisci.ucla.edu by June 3.
