New Bruins caught the beat of the Taiko Kyodo drummers from the Nikkei Student Union, one of numerous cultural and student groups that performed at Ackerman Union on Tuesday, Aug. 12, as part of new student orientation. They were also welcomed by Joe Bruin and members of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band. Hundreds of incoming freshmen and transfer students also enjoyed a barbeque and a resource fair, introducing them to some of UCLA's nearly 1,000 student organizations. Orientation sessions run weekly throughout the summer to introduce new Bruins to the campus and all it has to offer. Learn more at Getting 9,000 new Bruins ready for school.
