"Congratulations! It is our great pleasure to offer you admission to UCLA for the Fall Quarter 2014!"
These are the welcoming words that greeted thousands of students who, starting last Friday evening, logged into the admission decisions website of UCLA Undergraduate Admission. The students, who were selected from the largest college application pool in the nation numbering more than 86,000 students, were also invited to attend Bruin Day on April 19 to take campus and housing tours, attend faculty presentations, learn about academic departments and programs, student organizations and more.
"The entire UCLA admissions team shares in the joy and excitement expressed by our newly admitted freshmen," said Youlonda Copeland-Morgan, UCLA’s associate vice chancellor for enrollment management. "This is an extraordinarily talented group of students from California, the nation and the world. We’re confident that once they have experienced the incredible academic and enriching student life UCLA offers, they will be Bruin-bound."
The excited students are sharing their good news on Twitter, Instagram and other social networks. Here's a sampling:
I feel like it's unreal. I'm hallucinating. Every time I receive new emails from them. I can't wait to be a bruin. 💛🐻💙#UCLAbound
