TEDx talk on food and food systems

On Saturday, August 11, the Fowler Museum will host an all-day event,“Food and Food Systems in the 21st Century.” From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., speakers will talk about the impact of food production on the planet. The talks, to be held in the Fowler’s Lenart Auditorium, are a part of the TedxLAMiracleMile series of programs. The focus of these talks is not to promote any one political or ideological agenda, but rather to examine the new and changing practices in food technology and globalization. Admission includes a pre-event mixer, box lunch,  a post-event wine and cheese reception and admission to the current Fowler exhibit “Second Skins: Painted Barkcloth from New Guinea and Central Africa.” $48 for Fowler members, seniors and students. Advance tickets are $60.
