UC honors and recognizes Constitution Day

United States Constitution

UC is commemorating Constitution Day Sept. 17 by encouraging all members of the UC community to learn more about and reflect on the historic document that continues to shape the nation more than 200 years after it was created.

Visit UC’s Constitution Day website where you can learn about the Constitution, from the delegates responsible for drafting it to how many methods for electing the president of the United States were considered.

On Sept. 17, 1787, the delegates to the United States Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in Philadelphia.

Federal law requires that all schools receiving federal funds hold an educational program on the Constitution every year on Sept. 17.

UC has created the website to help faculty, staff and students learn more about the Constitution and its significance.

President Janet Napolitano encourages everyone in the UC community to take a few moments to look over UC’s Constitution Day website and broaden their knowledge of and appreciation for this historic and important document.
