As part of its ongoing effort to bring the amazing world of UCLA to as wide an audience as possible, UCLA Magazine has launched its first iPad app to better serve readers in the digital age. Dedicated to bringing readers the very best of UCLA arts, athletics, entertainment and discovery, the inaugural issue includes:
- Two app-only videos that take a look at UCLA football from both sides of the ball feature interviews with standout linebacker Erick Kendricks as well as Fox Sports broadcasters and former Bruin quarterbacks Wayne Cook and Matt Stevens.
- From this month’s print edition comes a feature on how the women’s tennis team won UCLA’s 111th national title in a nail-biting finish.
- Also pulled from the October issue is a profile of the Bruin artists and their art that adorns Los Angeles Metro train and bus stations.
- And from the July issue, there's another look at a powerful and heartrending story of how one wounded veteran regained his smile thanks to the UCLA surgeons, nurses and other health care practitioners of Operation Mend.
The UCLA Magazine app, available at the Apple iTunes Store, will publish concurrently with the print edition once every quarter. Plans are underway to debut a Google Plus version of the app in early 2015. Visit this website to download the new UCLA Magazine app.
