UCLA News Week: A game-changing gift

|

This week: UCLA alumni Meyer and Renee Luskin donate $100 million to further academic programs and civic engagement. It's the second-largest gift ever to the campus and will be split between the School of Public Affairs and a proposed new residential conference center.

"I live and work in the region and wanted to give back in a creative and unique way that helps UCLA to continue its important work with the broader community," Meyer Luskin said.

Also in the UCLA News Week webcast, engineers and biologists have developed a new method for improving the supply of stem cells for human implantation closer to clinical therapies; the gap between Medicare coverage for preventive care and what a recent study recommended; and UCLA's record number of applications for fall.

UCLA News Week is produced on Wednesdays most weeks during the year. You can subscribe to the RSS feed, sign up for e-mail alerts and view past programs at UCLA Newsroom
