In this week's video news digest, radiation biologist Keisuke Iwamoto dispels myths about radioactive fallout from the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan. Iwamoto, an associate professor of radiation oncology, studies the effects of radiation on the human body.
 
Also this week, UCLA's new Center for Laboratory Safety is unveiled by Associate Vice Chancellor Nancy Wayne and by James Gibson, director of the UCLA Office of Environment, Health and Safety.
 
And in brief: physical and mental health concerns of California's aging gay and lesbian population, and a personalized vaccine developed at UCLA doubles the survival time for some patients with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer.
