On Friday, the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health will welcome nine delegates from three of the most renowned schools of public health in China to launch formal academic partnerships.
 
Dr. Jody Heymann, dean of the Fielding School, and her counterparts from China will sign memoranda of understanding establishing training and research collaborations between UCLA and the Chinese institutions. Deans Qingyue Meng of Peking University, Wen Chen of Fudan University and Feng Chen of Nanjing Medical University will represent their schools.
 
The signing will be followed by a forum addressing public health in China, during which the deans and faculty members from the Fielding School and its partner schools in China will discuss global health development, health sector reform in China, genome-wide association studies of liver cancer and other topics.
 
The events will take place from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Neuroscience Research Building on the UCLA campus. Admission is free and open to all, but guests are encouraged to register in advance online.
