Dr. Christopher Cooper is a professor in the departments of medicine and physiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and an expert in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and how exercise affects pulmonary health.

Cooper is one of the principal investigators in the UCLA Exercise Research Phsyiology Laboratory, which was established in 1993 to promote the study of exercise physiology. Researchers in the laboratory are involved in human research in the field of exercise physiology both as pertains to normal healthy subjects such as athletes and also patients with a variety of pulmonary, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal diseases.
