Teofilo Ruiz and Obama
Longtime history professor Teofilo Ruiz, internationally recognized for his work on medieval Spain and Europe, is awarded the National Humanities Medal by President Barack Obama on Feb. 13. Ruiz is among nine intellectuals nationwide selected this year for the prestigious prize.
