Mercury, as seen by NASA’s MESSENGER spacecraft, the first to ever to orbit the planet. MESSENGER acquired more than 150,000 images and extensive data sets, and is continuing to orbit Mercury. This image was acquired on Oct. 2, 2013 by the Wide Angle Camera of the Mercury Dual Imaging System aboard MESSENGER.
