In this performance piece entitled “Friends of the Los Angeles River,” created in collaboration with Pat Patterson and Roger Wong, MacAdams painted himself green, wore a white suit (belonging to Brett Goldstone) to echo William Mulholland, and played river animals including a hawk, owl, rattlesnake, and frog. Several months later he and friends founded the group.
