Struggling to find good-paying jobs to support their families, blacks with disadvantaged backgrounds have access to few career paths. One of them is to qualify for a union apprenticeship in the trades. In the Ready to Work program, participants receive tutoring by UCLA students and guidance from veteran leaders in the trades.
