The Woman's Building at the Chicago World’s Fair

The Woman’s Building was the only exhibition hall designed by a woman, Sophia Hayden, and included works by Mary Cassatt, embroidery and laces, and sculptures. Dedicated to the achievements of women, the building hosted talks on philanthropy, education and the “domestic sciences” among topics of interest to women.
