"The Center Cannot Hold," an opera composed by UCLA psychiatrist Dr. Kenneth Wells, tells the story of Elyn Saks, who resolved to live a life with schizophrenia as fully as she could. Saks is now a USC professor who wrote a memoir about her condition.
