The Loeb awards were created in 1957 by Gerald Loeb, who was a founding partner of E.F. Hutton, to encourage journalism on business and finance that informs and protects the private investor and the general public. A guest columnist for Forbes Magazine, Loeb was widely considered a Wall Street iconoclast.
