To get an accurate fix on how L.A.’s solar efficiency rates compared to other major cities, we took each municipality’s installed solar capacity and divided it by the number of sunny days per year. The result: a solar efficiency “index” that shows the City of Angels trails other cities — but has plenty of room for sun-powered growth.
