UCLA’s leader emphasized that campus must do all it can to ensure that all students — no matter their background or means — can graduate in a timely manner.
Bruins have long sought to make UCLA a more inclusive environment for people of all genders and sexual and romantic orientations. Now, those efforts are accelerating.
Fulfilling a long-held aspiration, the campus will offer four years in campus residences to students who enter as freshmen and two years to transfer students.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this day, so have a first great day on campus,” Block said. “Hope you have a great year, be well, be safe and go Bruins!”
Even though the pandemic has rewritten the circumstances, UCLA is doing its best to make sure this upcoming year will provide students chances to connect.
