The gift is from the estate of Lee Oetzel, who earned three degrees from UCLA, including a doctorate in psychology in 1953.

The gift, from longtime donors Maxine and Eugene Rosenfeld, supports care for older adults.

Dr. Arash Naeim, an oncologist and bioengineer, has been selected to hold the new endowed chair.

The Worker Equity Initiative will explore how government agencies and their partners help workers thrive in quality careers.

The gift will “strengthen our vibrant community of faculty and students dedicated to studying Taiwan,” said Min Zhou, director of the UCLA Asia Pacific Center.

The Ginsburg Center builds on teamwork among scientists and physicians to advance research, enhance patient care for genetic conditions.

The funds will be allocated to scholarships and COVID-19 emergency support.

“We’re proud to be assisting UCLA, which helps all people with the same high level of care,” said Mark Wittcoff.

The center, formed thanks to a $6.75 million gift, will foster artistic creativity, scholarship, performance and cultural expression.
