Bring your family to enjoy a day of workshops, music and interactive events — several of them sponsored by UCLA — at the Getty Center in a free family festival that ties in with the exhibition Cave Temples of Dunhuang: Buddhist Art on China's Silk Road.
On Saturday, June 11, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can make your own book, learn to write Chinese characters, become entranced by stories of Buddha in animal forms and feel the world's interconnectedness through music and dance from China to Peru.

UCLA-sponsored family festival events include:

  • Music of China Ensemble Concert, 11:15 a.m. to noon and 2:45-3:30 p.m.
  • Stories of the Cave Temples Performance , 1:15-2 p.m. and 4:15-5 p.m.
  • Artist Demonstration with Tang Qingnian: The Virtue of Brush and Ink,  11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m.
  • Calligraphy Exploration Station, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
