A research publication by Dr. Ben Wu, professor and chair of the UCLA School of Dentistry’s Division of Advanced Prosthodontics and director of the school’s Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Biotechnology, was named the 2015 Article of the Year by the Journal of Biological Engineering.
"Recent advances in 3D printing of biomaterials" was selected on the basis of how frequently it was accessed during 2015. Wu's article was accessed more than 13,000 times in the 10 months from the time of its publication on March 1, 2015 to the end of the year — a significantly high number for such a competitive topic. He will be recognized for this honor during the Institute of Biological Engineering’s annual conference, April 7-9 in Greenville, South Carolina.
Wu also holds faculty appointments in UCLA's departments of bioengineering and the materials science and engineering, both at the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as the department of orthopedic surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine.
