The family of the late Allan Lebrow, an alumnus of the UCLA School of Law, has given the school a gift of $300,000 to permanently sustain “Whither the Court: The Allan C. Lebow Annual Supreme Court Review.” The annual colloquium invites a wide-ranging audience of academics, students, lawyers and members of the general public to hear from a panel of UCLA Law faculty and other experts as they discuss the most important upcoming cases on the U.S. Supreme Court docket and analyze the implications of these cases.

“Creating a forum for active intellectual discussion and public policy arguments is a fitting tribute to Allan’s academic and professional interests and achievements,” said Sanford Lebow, Allan's father.

Allan Lebow received his undergraduate degree with honors at UCLA in 1969 and his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 1972. He practiced corporate and bankruptcy law at the Los Angeles law firm Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman and Kuchel. He died in an airplane crash at the age of 30. The Allan C. Lebow Endowed Fund was established in memory by his parents, Sanford and Shirley Lebow, and his siblings Brian, Carol and Steven Lebow. Lebow’s widow and fellow UCLA graduate, Cynthia Lebow, has also been a strong supporter of “Whither the Court” and guest lectures for the UCLA Division of Political Science.

The 2016 “Whither the Court” event is scheduled for Aug. 25; registration is required.
