Emanuel Maidenberg is a clinical professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and an expert on the stress and anxiety caused by man-made and natural disasters. Maidenberg, who is director of the UCLA Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinic, is an expert on diagnosing and treating stress, anxiety and depression and his research and practice focus on coping with stress and anxiety related to a variety of events, including earthquakes, wildfires, terrorism, shootings, politics and job loss.

Maidenberg is also an authority on the psychological impact of the exposure to social media.
