Neal Halfon

Dr. Neal Halfon is director of the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families and Communities and also directs the Child and Family Health Program at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Halfon is an expert on child health care. A professor of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, health policy and management at the Fielding School and public policy at the Luskin School of Public Affairs, Halfon's research focuses on access to health care, delivery of health services and health policies and their effects on children, particularly low-income children.

Halfon's research has focused on issues related to access to care for poor children and delivery of health services to children with special health care needs, particularly those who have been abused and neglected and receive care through the foster care system.
