Gary Blasi, professor of law emeritus at the UCLA School of Law, is an expert on public interest policy and law, with an emphasis on the homeless and the poor. Blasi has researched and written extensively about advocacy on behalf of children in substandard schools, homeless families and individuals (including homeless veterans), low-income tenants, low-wage workers, and victims of discrimination.

Blasi has also conducted studies on the effect of law enforcement programs and activities on homelessness in downtown Los Angeles. He is a founding faculty member of the David J. Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy at the UCLA School of Law and is regularly consulted by community-based organizations.
