Dr. Timothy Brewer is a professor in the division of infectious diseases at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a professor of epidemiology at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. He is an authority on using analytic methods to optimize the population-based control of infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
He has extensive experience developing and overseeing training, education and service programs both locally and in countries around the world, and he has received multiple teaching awards for his efforts.
Brewer has served on advisory boards and review panels for numerous international and national organizations, including the World Health Organization, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. He currently serves as chair of the board of directors for the Consortium of Universities for Global Health.
