Dr. Linda Rosenstock is a professor of health policy and management and environmental health sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She was formerly the dean of the Fielding School, from 2000 to 2012.
An expert on occupational and environmental health ahd safety, her work and research has focused on public health, the politics of health policy, income inequality and health, and occupational health in the U.S. auto industry, among other areas.
Rosenstock served for nearly seven years as director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, where she led a staff of 1,500. The federal agency is mandated to undertake research and prevention activities in occupational safety and health. For her work with NIOSH, she received the Presidential Distinguished Executive Rank Award, the highest executive service award in the government.
