Christina Ramirez, a professor of biostatistics at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, is an expert on epidemics and pandemics involving infectious diseases.
Her work has focused primarily on the mechanisms behind HIV pathogenesis and HIV drug resistance, as well as on COVID-19.
Ramirez’s COVID-19 research, including peer-reviewed studies on SARS-CoV-2 mutations, identifying high-risk populations and the effectiveness of preventive measures like mask-wearing, have been covered widely in the media.
