With active Hillel and Chabad chapters and a wide variety of popular Jewish religious and cultural programs, UCLA is tied for third among the Best Colleges for Jewish Life in the United States, according to a new report by the Forward.

The publication’s rankings are based on students’ access to Jewish fraternities, sororities and extracurricular clubs, as well as proximity to synagogues — both as places of worship and for potential Sunday school employment.

The Forward College Guide also considers the availability of kosher food, Sabbath services, Jewish studies academic programs, scholarships and the size of the Jewish population.

UCLA scored 32 out of 34 possible points on the Jewish life scale.
