The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested two men, including a UCLA student, on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a female student whose body was found following a fire in an apartment near campus.

LAPD officials said they arrested Alberto Medina, 22, at his residence in Fresno, and Eric Marquez, 22, near his apartment in Westwood.

Marquez is a fifth-year undergraduate UCLA student majoring in biology, UCLA said. Medina is not affiliated with UCLA.

The LAPD identified the victim as Andrea DelVesco, a 21-year-old UCLA fourth-year psychology major from Austin, Texas.

The body of DelVesco, a member of Phi Beta Phi sorority, was found by firefighters responding to a blaze in the 10900 block of Roebling Avenue on Sept. 21.

UCLA is referring calls about the case to the LAPD.
