Researchers led by UCLA’s Dr. Paul Krebsbach are the first to characterize the mechanism of the gene, and they found it regulates the molecular process that dictates cell growth and human development.
Marking its 50th year, the UCLA School of Dentistry is celebrating its five-decade rise to becoming one of the leading research-intensive dental schools in the nation with a yearlong celebration that will start this weekend.
A grant from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health will enable the UCLA School of Dentistry to provide dental care for more than 1,000 people with HIV or AIDS for the next two years.
The funds will establish the UCLA–First 5 LA Children's Dental Care Program, which will benefit residents of underserved communities, who are at high risk for dental disease.
