How do school breakfasts and lunches reach more than 650,000 children in the Los Angeles Unified School District? The film documentary “Our Food Chain" weaves together the stories of students, families, farmers, school staff and advocates into a compelling narrative that highlights the successes and challenges of feeding children every day — from farmer to supplier to cafeteria manager to kids.

A free screening of “Our Food Chain” will be presented in conjunction with a reception celebrating UCLA’s inaugural “Food Studies and Food Justice” class on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the UCLA Neuroscience Research Building Auditorium.

The event is sponsored by UCLA’s Healthy Campus Initiative, in partnership with the Center for Community Learning. To attend, RSVP to cclmeetings@college.ucla.edu.
