The honor society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers has named one of its top awards after Asad Madni, distinguished adjunct professor of electrical and computer engineering in the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering.
The Asad M. Madni Outstanding Technical Achievement and Excellence Award was established to recognize Madni’s 50 years of accomplishments and leadership. The award will be presented annually beginning in 2020 to practitioners who have distinguished themselves through a significant invention, development or innovation.
Madni’s research focuses on the development and commercialization of sensors and systems for aerospace and automotive safety. He is a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, the recipient of the National Academy of Engineering’s Heritage Society Medal and fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
