With help from the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Gardens, the Bruin Beekeepers at UCLA have worked the past two quarters to create a hive for native bees. Their mission is to make more people aware of the importance of bees and build hives for them around campus and Southern California.
The unveiling of the student-made hive will happen in the La Kretz Garden Pavilion from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, March 8. Executive board members from the Bruin Beekeepers and directors from the botanical garden will speak at the celebration, and light refreshments will be served.
All UCLA students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend this free event but registration is required.
