UCLA staff, faculty and students can now take advantage of discounts and incentives being offered by 20 participating shops and restaurants in Westwood Village, thanks to a new program created by the Westwood Village Improvement Association.
Bruins only need to show a valid UCLA ID to receive a 20 percent discount from Barney’s Beanery, $10 off any repairs above $50 from Westwood Wireless or 30 percent off for watches and jewelry from Michael K. Jewelers, among many other offers.

In a letter to the campus community, Administrative Vice Chancellor Jack Powazek, who serves as a member of the association’s board on UCLA’s behalf, said the association is working on revitalization efforts to ensure that the area’s economic development is aligned with the needs of faculty, staff and students.
Powazek said that the university has always made it a priority to engage with Los Angeles through programs, services and resources that benefit the city’s diverse neighborhoods.
“Investing in Westwood Village by visiting local businesses serves our collective interest by helping ensure that UCLA remains a safe, secure and attractive environment to live, learn and work,” Powazek said in his letter.
