The UCLA women’s soccer team won the 110th NCAA national championship in the history of the campus on Sunday afternoon in North Carolina. The Bruins defeated the Florida State Seminoles, 1-0, in overtime to win the College Cup. It's the first national title for women's soccer at UCLA.
Sophomore Kodi Lavrusky scored the game-winner for the Bruins in the 97th minute after taking a through ball in the box from junior Megan Oyster and scoring past the goalkeeper for Florida State.
The Bruins finished the season with a 22-1-3 record and defeated three No. 1 seeds en route to the championship. The 110 national titles is the most by any NCAA school.
