It was a special day of “grime fighting” at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. While pediatric patients oohed and aahed Batman, Captain America, the Hulk, Spider-Man and Wonder Woman appeared outside the hospital windows to brighten their days.

“I had so much fun!” said Daniel Damien, a boy from Nevada whose family sought UCLA’s pediatric heart and lung expertise for his complicated lung condition. “I got to see ALL my favorite superheroes.”

Once the superheroes conquered their grimy foes, patients and their families greeted them and posed for photos on the Chase Child Life Terrace.

Since 2013, Sunland Window Cleaning has provided colorful costumes and donated time to bring superhero-sized excitement to UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.

“Our superhero patients had the opportunity to meet the real superheroes. We want to thank Sunland Window Cleaning for helping us put together this special event that provides a moment of joy to our sick patients,” said Kelli Carroll, director of the Chase Child Life Program.
