In a show of support and gratitude, members of the UCLA community gathered today on Wilson Plaza to salute veterans for their contributions and service.
“To veterans everywhere: We are profoundly grateful for all you give to our country — and we are delighted to have the opportunity to give something back. Thank you,” UCLA Chancellor Gene Block said in his address during the campus’s annual Veterans Day ceremony.
Block noted two key UCLA resources for veterans: the UCLA/VA Veteran Family Wellness Center and the UCLA School of Law Veterans Legal Clinic.
The ceremony also included brief speeches from Marine veterans Tess Banko, executive director of the Veteran Family Wellness Center, and Zeeshan Parvez, a UCLA doctoral student in materials chemistry and 2018 Tillman Scholar.
Following the ceremony, there was a resource fair during which veterans could learn about services and opportunities in the community and on campus.
