Generous Bruins still have a chance to contribute to the annual UCLA/United Way campaign. The deadline to participate has been extended through May 10.
United Way and UCLA have partnered for more than 50 years to help end poverty in the greater Los Angeles region, focusing on housing, education and financial stability. One of the campaign’s programs, Home for Good, housed more than 30,000 formerly homeless residents in the last two years, reduced veteran homelessness and placed nearly 3,000 veterans in living-wage jobs since 2016.
The campaign, which launched April 1, also had a strong presence at this year’s spring football game on April 20 at Drake Stadium. The Bruin community helped collect more than 1,000 pounds of food for the UCLA Community Programs Office food closet to benefit UCLA students.
Those who are interested and able to participate can visit the UCLA/United Way campaign website to make a donation with a one-time gift or through a continuing payroll deduction.
