For those staff and faculty looking to pair working out with the beginning of summer, it’s time to sign-up for free FitZone classes from UCLA Recreation.
Classes will be offered at locations throughout campus and no membership is required, but participants must register by clicking here.
One you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email that contains your FitZone pass, which you must print. Bring your pass and your Bruincard to every class and show instructor to enter.
Then sign in each week online using MINDBODY Online. Create or reactivate your account by clicking here for MindBody.
Among the classes offered are:
Spring Forest Qigong
Mondays, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Wilshire Center Suite 130
A modernized form of qigong that teaches participants self-healing techniques utilizing movement and meditation. These slow movements harness one’s own energy and help balance the endocrine and lymphatic systems in the body.
Total Body Workout
Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 1 p.m., Center for Health Sciences eighth floor patio
Get outside for some fun in the sun and enjoy a total body workout with resistance tube exercises, cardio intervals and core conditioning. Appropriate for beginners looking to get in shape.
- To get to the eighth floor patio of 760 Westwood Plaza, take H1 or H2 elevators. The patio door is adjacent to the Office of Extramural Support 88-201C
Core de Force
Wednesdays, 1:15 to 2:15pm, Wilshire Center Suite 130
This class is a high-energy, non-contact group fitness class that mixes mixed-martial-arts-inspired cardio drills with explosive power moves for a full-body conditioning workout. Your own body weight provides the resistance — no equipment needed.
All outdoor FitZone classes are subject to cancellation when it rains or temperatures exceed 90 degrees.
