Campus visitors, students, faculty and staff should allow extra time when traveling to and from campus today and Friday because of street closures and possible traffic congestion due to President Barack Obama’s visit to Los Angeles.

The following closures are in effect today and Friday, according to a Los Angeles Police Department advisory:

  • Hilgard Avenue between Weyburn and LeConte avenues is closed until 6 p.m. on Friday.
  • The Metro Bus Orange Line route 302/2 on Hilgard Avenue between Le Conte and Weyburn avenues will be canceled from 11 a.m. today to 4 p.m. Friday.
  • On Thursday only, the area around Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood between Sawtelle and Santa Monica boulevards will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • On Thursday only, the area around Beverly Glen Boulevard between Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • On Friday, the area around Wilshire Boulevard between Veteran and Comstock avenues will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • On Friday, the area around Beverly Glen Boulevard between Ashton Avenue and Bellagio Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • On Friday, the area around Sunset Boulevard between Hilgard Avenue and Carolwood Drive will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • On Friday, the area around Beverly Glen Boulevard between Bellagio Road and Pico Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
